Viatorian Community

The General Assembly of the Delegation, meeting at least once a year for a session of a certain size, addresses issues that affect the life and future of Viateurs de France. One gave a content to the priorities selected by the Council of the Delegation around listening, innovation, fraternity. Another approached the question of training (initial and continuing) and formed a committee to study the participation in the operating costs of the Viatorian Community. A third assessed, in a rather thorough way, the first years of the life of the Delegation and addressed in a concrete way, the sharing of operating costs and the budget of the Viatorian Community of France.

The Viateurs de France are a group of about forty religious and 25 lay associates. The establishment of the Delegation did not provoke resistance among them; it happened in a serene climate and without particular blockages. The communities have opened themselves to meetings / exchanges, to the lectio divina, either in the local communities or between communities of sector or of the Delegation …

The Viatores of the Delegation can not do without a reflection on their specificity. Religious Viators must see what it means to be religious today; what is the meaning of vows and religious life today? They must also discern personal and community challenges, open up to new forms of community life. For their part, lay Viators must continue their secular re-reading of the Viatorian charism. Each and every one, in their own commitments, live a deep and renewed Viatorian spiritual life.
