Superior General
He was born in Haiti on October 21, 1967. Father Nestor Fils-Aimé is a product of the Clerics of St. Viator since he completed his secondary education at the famous “Collège Immaculée-Conception de Gonaïves” in Haiti. He made his first vows on September 11, 1988, in the company of Kénel Verna.
They are the first two Clerics of St. Viator to make religious profession in Haiti. Father Fils-Aimé pronounced his perpetual vows on September 19, 1994 and received his priestly anointing on October 15, 1995 in the Cathedral of Gonaïves. His journey in the Congregation was shared between Haiti and Canada. In Haiti, after his religious, philosophical and theological formation, he was director of the Immaculée-Conception College in Gonaïves from 1994 to 1998, then from 2000 to 2002.
In Canada, he pursued specialized studies in education until obtaining, in 2011, a doctorate in psycho-pedagogy. He worked at Collège Bourget in Rigaud (Quebec) as a pastoral animator and in charge of international cooperation for eleven years (2003-2014) and for some years (2009-2015) as a professor in the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Montreal.
Elected provincial superior of the Province of Canada on April 12, 2014, he will serve on the provincial council for almost ten years, until January 6, 2024. On July 19, 2024, on the occasion of the 31st General Chapter of the Congregation held in Ariccia (Italy), he was elected Superior General. He made his profession of faith on September 1, 2024 in Vourles (France) to become the 17th Superior General of the Clerics of St. Viator.
