The supreme authority of the congregation, the General Chapter meets in ordinary session every six years. It brings together the members of the General Council, the provincial Superiors, the Superior of the Delegation of France, as well as the members designated by the General Regulations.
The General Chapter is the privileged guarantor of the congregation’s fidelity to the founder’s intentions and the Constitution. Charged with promoting the institute’s vitality, it analyzes and evaluates its global situation, defines strategic orientations, and sets common objectives. It is also this body that proceeds to the election of the Superior General.
