Formation

Admission Requirements

To be an Associate to the Congregation and a member of the Viatorian Community, the candidate must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be of legal age.
  • Demonstrate social, emotional, and psychological stability.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make decisions and carry them out.
  • Live in conformity with evangelical values.
  • Actively invest in the Viatorian Mission.
  • Participate in community life and the spirituality of the institute.

If the vocation of associate is a divine gift that invites to share the Viatorian charism, the formation process rests on human collaboration. It solicits the candidate’s commitment, the accompaniment of designated religious or associates, and the support of the entire community.

Engagement process

Although the guidelines vary according to the provinces, delegations, or foundations, the typical path is as follows:

Welcome

The person is first welcomed into a local community.

Evaluation and initial commitment

After an evaluation period, the person makes a solemn commitment for a fixed term.

Renewal

This commitment can be renewed.

Definitive commitment

At the end of the discernment process, the associate can make a permanent commitment in the Viatorian community.
