Fr. Gerardo Robinson SOTO TOLEDO, General Councilor

He was born on August 17, 1951 in Viña del Mar, Chile. He entered the Juniorate of the Clerics of Saint Viator in 1968. He did his novitiate in Valladolid, Spain, where he took his first vows on February 4, 1973. On April 24, 1976, he made his perpetual profession. He was ordained a priest on April 9, 1983.

He has several specialties in the field of education: basic general education, religious education in secondary school, educational advisor and professional advisor, educational administrator and master’s degree in educational management.

He studied philosophy at the Pontifical Seminary of Santiago and theology at the Catholic University of Chile. He has served the Congregation as Vocations Officer, Formator of Postulants, Rector of several colleges, Master of Novices, General Councilor under Fr. Mark Francis (2000-2003) and first Provincial Superior of Chile (2003-2006).

He is currently a member of the Viatorian Community of Ovalle; he offers his services in two parishes in the same city and is also Episcopal Vicar of the Archdiocese of La Serena. On July 22, 2024, following his election, the new Superior General asked Fr. Gerardo Robinson SOTO TOLEDO to be part of his Council as General Councilor.
