Fr. Fredy CONTRERAS MORENO, General Treasurer

He was born on November 20, 1983 in Tunja, Colombia. He began his formation at the Seminary of Tunja at the age of 16, where he studied philosophy. He entered the Viatorian pre-novitiate in Bogota in 2006 and completed his novitiate in Santiago Chile in 2007. He made his first religious profession on January 19, 2008 and his perpetual vows on January 15, 2014 in Colombia.

He was ordained a priest on August 5, 2017. He holds a degree in theology from the University of San Buenaventura in Bogota (2012), a master’s degree in biblical theology from the same university (2020), and a master’s degree in Pedagogy from the University of Santo Tomas (2020). In 2021 he received a Master’s degree in Management from the School of Administration of the “Universidad del Rosario” in Bogota.

As part of his pastoral and ministerial experience, he has been a professor of religious education, philosophy and pastoral coordinator at the “Colegio San Viator” in Bogota, parish catechist and director of catechesis at the San Juan Maria Vianney parish in Bogota, director of vocations, formator , Vice-rector of the San Viator School in Tunja, coordinator of the International Baccalaureate programs in the schools of Bogota and Tunja, Vicar for Consecrated Life for six years in the Archdiocese of Tunja, director of formation of the Foundation of Colombia and, since 2021, Rector of the San Viator School in Tunja. On July 22, 2024, following his election, the new Superior General asked Fr. Fredy CONTRERAS MORENO to assume the role of General Treasurer of the Congregation.
